Powerful seach capabilities reduce friction in note Taking

Fluid and descriptive search makes it easier to find relevant entries in a non-linear note-taking system. This reduced the need for tedious book-keeping (i.e. “How should I annotate this entry best to easily find it when I need it?”). This reduction in book-keeping requirements translates to a decrease in friction while persisting transient notes. However, explicit position cues like the ones conferred by dense linking are still valuable for learning.
